ASA RUNGE - 2015 BASEBALL SEASON
Entering the 2015 season as a 12U, Asa was selected by Baseball Youth to play in the National All-American Games Tournament in Vero Beach, Florida. Asa's Majestic Navy team won the Championship and Asa was names the Tournament MVP. In the Tournament, Asa faced top players from around the country - and made a lot of friends. In March, 2015 Asa was invited to play in the Baseball Youth National Future Games in Newberry, Florida. There his 12U Majestic Silver team were the Tournament Champion runner-up. And, Asa won the Homerun Derby with a Dirty South Bat right out of the box.
In May, 2015 Asa was asked to join a newly formed National Baseball Team comprised of the top talent in the country. That team was the Elite Baseball National Team. Asa's Elite Baseball National Team won the Baseball Youth Elite Series in London, KY, earning a bid to the National Youth Baseball Championship (NYBC). The Elite Baseball National Team was then ranked as one of the top Twenty (20) 12U teams in the country. In June, 2015 Asa was invited by USA Baseball to compete in their Futures Invitational in Cary, N.C. There he competed in a four day showcase tournament with top baseball athletes from around the country.
In July, 2015 Asa was invited to play in the Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge to be aired on ESPN and MLB.com. The All-Star Challenge was limited to only the top 60 players in the country after an nationwide identification process. Immediately after that, Asa was invited to play for MVP/Beast in the National Amateur Baseball Championship (NABC) in Orland, Florida. This event is a competition between the top teams in the country to see where each ranks. This event is also televised on ESPN and the MLB Network. Finally, Asa's Youngsville Team won the New Hampshire State Championship - with a walk-off homerun by Asa. And, Asa won the Regional Cal Ripken Home-run derby.
